AIRPORT PROJECTS

This project is a sustainable steel building project to replace the existing composite shop and remote spray paint facilities located at the FedEx Aircraft Maintenance Hangar at Los Angeles International Airport. The purpose of the facility is to repair damaged and worn composite body parts from jet aircraft. Site work grading and equipment installation were done in addition to the 8,754 SF metal building. The building was designed to include the following functions: sanding and painting booths, an assembly room for bonding and epoxy work, paint and sanding prep rooms, a transition room and air shower upon exit from the sanding booth, men's and women's locker rooms, miscellaneous tools, equipment, material storage and utility rooms. This is the first building project to go through the Los Angeles International Airport Sustainable Design Guidelines process.
